EOSTA JOINS WATER STEWARDSHIP PROJECT (wrap)  in south africa

Water is one of the key priorities in Eosta's sustainability policy. An internal working group is developing a long-term approach and concrete improvements in the chain – from farm to fork. In an earlier campaign, the True Cost Ticker (2021), we already highlighted the benefits of organic farming in terms of soil, CO₂ and water use.

Plums and peaches from South Africa: now arriving

At the end of November, we visited ProPlum, our stone fruit grower in South Africa. Our visit during the harvest season was greatly appreciated by Paul Roos senior and junior and their team, and gave us the opportunity to see the fruit during the harvest season, just before it was shipped to the Netherlands.

New international report: food systems are exceeding planetary boundaries

In early October, the EAT-Lancet Commission published the report Healthy, Sustainable, and Just Food Systems. The report builds on the influential 2019 EAT-Lancet report, which introduced the Planetary Health Diet, and is the most comprehensive scientific analysis of global food systems to date.

Holidays ahead: flavourful limes from Peru

The season for limes from Peru is in full swing and the quality is excellent. Supply is stable and we expect several containers during the festive season. This ensures reliable availability during a period when demand traditionally increases.

Exotic citrus fruits from Morocco: organic and distinctive

Terracitrus from Morocco is supplying a strong range of organic exotic citrus fruits this season. Since 2015, the Tazi family has been growing completely organically according to SEDEX/SMETA standards on 82 hectares near the Sebou River near Fez. The result: distinctive citrus fruits with lots of aroma, colour and culinary possibilities.

Carpe Diem: organic grapes with proven quality

Carpe Diem has been a trusted partner for our organic grapes from South Africa for many years. This week, the first Early Sweet grapes will be harvested and shipped, so that — assuming normal transit times — they will be available before Christmas. Once again, the quality is excellent, with good size and high brix.

Organic Christmas range 2025

The organic Christmas range for 2025 is ready, with a colourful selection of fruit and vegetables from reliable growers worldwide. With a mix of seasonal classics, exotic fruits and citrus specialities, this range offers plenty of opportunities for an attractive and inspiring Christmas display.

The hidden costs of our agriculture

A new report by Deloitte shows that the social damage caused by Dutch agriculture exceeds the economic returns of the sector each year. Commissioned by the Robin Food Coalition and the Food Transition Coalition, Deloitte calculated a negative balance of €5.3 billion per year.
