Organic Raingrown®: the 1.6 billion-litre difference

In 2025, Eosta's Organic Raingrown® products together achieved a water saving of no less than 1.6 billion litres. Water that is not extracted from scarce drinking and sanitary water, but comes entirely from natural rainfall.

At a time of increasing water scarcity, Organic Raingrown® demonstrates how organic cultivation using only natural rainwater leads to very substantial water savings — comparable to the daily water consumption of approximately 11 million Europeans

Organic Raingrown Avocados (ORA) – 1.4 billion litres

With 1.4 billion litres, Organic Raingrown Avocados will make by far the largest contribution to total water savings in 2025. This makes ORAs the backbone of the Organic Raingrown® programme and a structural pillar within the fruit and vegetable range.

Organic Raingrown Oranges (ORO) – 178 million litres

New to the range are Organic Raingrown Oranges (juice oranges) from Peru. Their launch in 2025 was the result of two years of intensive preparation, in collaboration with a cooperative of smallholder farms.

The OROs have been enthusiastically received on the European market and will therefore return to the range in 2026, available from June to September. In 2025, they achieved water savings of 178 million litres.

Rain as a source, water as a responsibility

Organic Raingrown® stands for cultivation within the limits of what nature offers locally. Tasty products that are grown exclusively with natural rainwater and thus contribute structurally to the conservation of local water resources.

From Morocco to Bard Valley: the journey of the Medjool date

The Medjool date has a remarkable story. Morocco is the historic birthplace of this beloved date. In 1919, production suffered a severe blow due to the outbreak of Bayoud disease. As a result, production fell dramatically and the Medjool date was on the verge of disappearing.

Kiwi

Overseas kiwi season gets underway

Golden kiwis are already available, with green kiwis to follow shortly. The golden kiwi season has started with Soreli from South Africa, followed by Zespri SunGold from New Zealand. In about three weeks’ time, we also expect the first green kiwis from Chile. Later in the season, volumes from Argentina will follow. The outlook for the new season is positive: quality and availability look good.
