Eight health food chains and retailers in Scandinavia, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are selling these fair products. Nevertheless some people are still unfamiliar with the concept. In this interview with the #LivingWageLab, Eosta's quality manager Gert-Jan Lieffering explains why it matters: "In many countries a worker is guaranteed a minimum wage, but that is not a Living Income. If you want to pay a Living Wage, you need to involve all parties within the value chain: the supplier, seller and consumer.".

A Living Wage is defined as a wage that supports a decent standard of living for the worker and her or his family. Het aanbod van biologische avocado's uit Mexico neemt gestaag toe. Voor de komende maanden worden goede volumes en beschikbaarheid verwacht. De grotere maten (14–18) zijn momenteel het best beschikbaar. Naarmate het seizoen vordert, verwachten we dat ook de kleinere maten beter beschikbaar worden.
Achter onze Mexicaanse Organic Raingrown®-avocado's staat Avova, een familiebedrijf in Michoacán waarmee Eosta al vele jaren samenwerkt.
Nu het Europese blauwe bessenseizoen langzaam ten einde loopt, zijn de eerste biologische volumes uit Zuid-Amerika onderweg. Peru zal de komende weken als eerste leveren, gevolgd door aanvoer van onze vaste telers in Argentinië, met wie we al jarenlang samenwerken.
