Friday 19 February is the last day of BIOFACH. Eosta did not host a stand, but we are present and open for meetings. During the opening ceremony a short video of Eosta was shown, which you can see below. Friday afternoon our CEO Volkert Engelsman will speak about True Cost in a BIOFACH eSESSION for which you are kindly invited. Do you want to meet up personally? Next week we are expecting the first organic pears from Argentina. We therefore asked Product Manager Ricardo Montoya to give his thoughts about the new season.
Eosta has renewed and improved its biweekly newsletter. We have upgraded to a new and modern platform (Presspage) which allows us more interactivity and multimedia content. The BIOFACH tradefair will be held online this year, from 17-19 February. Although Eosta will not be hosting a stand, we will contribute to BIOFACH in many ways. You are welcome to attend one of the three speeches by our CEO Volkert Engelsman, or meet up with us in our own Meatless Meeting Place – featuring our organic pigs François and Antoinette.
Don’t forget, within a couple of week it is Valentine’s Day! Common symbols are hearts, red roses and Cupid… We would like to add our delicious organic dates, passion fruit & more!
En France aucun détaillant n’a encore osé : mettre les mangues produites au Salaire Vital en vente dans les magasins. En Allemagne et en Autriche, les détaillants ont montré plus de détermination : « Augmenter légèrement le prix des mangues pour qu’en Afrique, les ouvriers agricoles gagnent un Salaire Vital ? Nous n’hésitons pas ! » Et les consommateurs ont répondu avec enthousiasme. Lors des premières ventes de mangues biologiques produites au Salaire Vital, plus de 100 tonnes ont été achetées. Le bénéfice recueilli comble de 40 % l’écart salarial des employés des entrepôts de l’entreprise d’Adama Zongo au Burkina Faso. Désormais, nous mettons en place la vente d’avocats produits au Salaire Vital.
When the first shipment of Colombian limes from "Persian Limes" arrived at organic fruit specialist Eosta in Waddinxveen last week, they came with a very nice surprise. On the 800 boxes of fresh green limes, almost a hundred postcards were stuck with personal messages from the farm workers of the valley of the river Poblanco. For them, the first shipment of Colombian limes to the Netherlands means a fresh new start for the Colombian countryside, after decades of poverty and guerrilla warfare.
