From week 49 onwards, Eosta starts the season for overseas organic stone fruit. In addition to our familiar organic plums, this year we are expanding the range with organic peaches, apricots and nectarcots – all supplied by our grower Pro-Plum Organics in South Africa.

Growing conditions in the ecologically pristine Waterberg Highlands are excellent: fertile soils, clean mountain water and a stable climate produce fruit of outstanding quality.

The nectarcot, a cross between a nectarine and an apricot, has a juicy, sweet flavour and a smooth skin – a refreshing addition to the stone fruit assortment.

Conventional stone fruit ranks among the fruits with the highest pesticide residues on the Dirty Dozen list of the Environmental Working Group (EWG). Organic cultivation at Pro-Plum Organics provides a safe and sustainable alternative – free from chemical pesticides and GMOs, and produced with respect for people and nature.
Global demand for organic stone fruit continues to grow, and the overseas season plays an important role in meeting that demand. Through our partnership with Pro-Plum Organics, we can offer a broad range of fresh organic stone fruit even during the European winter.
