Organic grapes 2026/27: plan ahead to secure volumes

The overseas grape season starts in mid-December, but planning begins now. Demand for organic grapes remains strong and our growers need early visibility on the volumes they can reserve for fixed programmes. By aligning programmes in advance, we can secure organic volumes more effectively and are also in a stronger position to offer competitive pricing. 

Outlook for South Africa 

The initial outlook for South Africa is positive. Our growers expect a hot, dry summer. Under the influence of El Niño, however, some varieties may ripen earlier, bringing harvest windows closer together. This makes careful planning of the different varieties throughout the season particularly important.

From mid-December, we expect the first organic grapes from South Africa by sea, followed by weekly arrivals until mid- to late April. We offer a broad assortment of white, red and black grapes in various pack formats and varieties, including premium varieties such as Sable, Autumn Crisp, Sweet Celebration, Allison and Sweet Globe.

Continuity into May 

In South Africa, we have worked for many years with three regular export partners, each with a carefully selected group of growers. We start the season with white organic grapes from Carpe Diem, followed by a broader range from our other South African growers. From April onwards, we extend the overseas season with organic grapes from Chile, ensuring continued supply into May.

By combining different growers and origins, we can respond more flexibly to available colours, varieties and volumes and support continuity throughout the season.
