Superfruit: organic pomegranates from Turkey

The pomegranate, one of the oldest fruits, is even mentioned in the Bible. Known as a superfruit, packed with antioxidants, it is gaining popularity. An average annual market growth rate of over 9% is expected until 2030.  The name pomegranate comes from the Latin pomum granatum, meaning 'apple with many seeds'. The ruby red seeds, also known as the 'jewels of the kitchen', impart a sweet and fresh flavour with a slight bitterness. Pomegranates are versatile and suit both savoury and sweet dishes.
