Superfruit with impact: blueberries, passion fruit & physalis

Colour, flavour and healthy power for your (late) summer shelves: blueberries, passion fruit and physalis are organic, sustainable and available year-round – each with a strong story.

Colour, flavour and healthy power for your (late) summer shelves: blueberries, passion fruit and physalis are organic, sustainable and available year-round – each with a strong story.

The new autumn blueberry season has started! Overseas supplies have begun, with fresh organic berries from Peru, Argentina and Chile. Together, these countries ensure a stable season from July to March.

Our partner Expofresh in Argentina grows its fruit in the fertile Las Yungas valley, where volcanic soil, rainfall and modern cultivation techniques ensure tasty fruit with minimal impact.

Franco D'Andrea: "We combine generations of agricultural knowledge with new technology to grow responsibly, with respect for people and nature."

Many shops still opt for plastic packaging for blueberries. Did you know that there are plenty of plastic-free alternatives that help reduce your ecological footprint?

From 2025 to 2027, blueberries will receive extra visibility through an EU-supported campaign for soft fruit in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Passion fruit | Time for promotion!

Organic passion fruit ('gulupa') from Colombia is available year-round, with natural harvest peaks in December and June/July. Passion fruit is now widely available – the perfect time to showcase this tropical superfruit.

Our regular grower Ocati has been supplying consistent top quality via sustainable sea freight for over ten years. Passion fruit is packed with antioxidants, magnesium and fibre – and is loved in smoothies, salads and desserts.

Take advantage of this moment for a summer promotion.

Physalis | Compact superfruit, naturally protected

Physalis is available year-round and recognisable by its distinctive lantern shape. This protects the berry naturally and extends its shelf life – clever packaging from Mother Nature herself.

Did you know that this makes plastic-free packaging perfectly possible? More and more supermarkets are opting for this.

Physalis is rich in vitamin C and β-cryptoxanthin, a powerful antioxidant and pro-vitamin A.

Opportunities on the shelf

  • Spread sourcing & boat freight → delivery reliability and low CO₂
  • Summer promotion opportunity → passion fruit is widely available
  • Plastic reduction possible → with plastic-free packaging alternatives
