PPWR: packaging data ready by 12 August

From 12 August 2026, the new European PPWR requirements for packaging on the EU market will apply. Eosta is on track with preparations for the requirements that apply to us as an importer and supplier. This includes: recording packaging material data, having technical documentation available, collecting EU declarations of conformity for each packaging type, complying with requirements regarding substances of concern such as PFAS in food contact packaging and heavy metals, and registration in the relevant EPR schemes.

Packaging data available on time

Our top priority is to ensure that all necessary packaging data is properly recorded, so that we can provide this information accurately and on time.

Preparing for 2028 and 2030

In doing so, we are not only preparing for 12 August 2026, but also for the next steps towards 2028 and 2030, such as harmonised labelling, compostable fruit and vegetable stickers, stricter recyclability requirements, packaging minimisation and restrictions on single-use plastic.

Sustainable packaging solutions

Drawing on over 35 years of experience in sustainable packaging, we are happy to advise on packaging solutions that are as sustainable as possible;. Our guiding principle is: the best packaging is no packaging at all. That is why, wherever possible, we look at unpackaged options, Natural Branding, reduced material use and other packaging solutions that align with the goals of the PPWR.
