Eosta: ‘No VAT on organic food’

On behalf of 80,000 concerned citizens and 150 health food stores, Volkert Engelsman of Eosta / Nature & More handed over the petition “No VAT on organic” to the Dutch parliament today. “Consumers who buy organic products are saving the government and tax payers money. By lowering the VAT on organic, the government will create a more level playing field and encourage sustainable production” said Volkert Engelsman.

Eosta makes an appeal through HRH Queen Máxima

Volkert Engelsman, CEO of major organics marketer Eosta and one of the driving forces behind the True Cost Accounting movement, has made an appeal to banks and investors through HRH Queen Máxima calling on the sector to move up a gear with more “inclusive finance”. By including the environmental and societal damage caused by large scale conventional farming in profit and loss accounts, the financial sector can make a huge impact towards saving our planet, argued Engelsman.

Eosta-CEO says: 'No VAT on organic’

Organic products should not be charged with VAT, according to a new petition from the organic sector. On Friday 3rd of November, Volkert Engelsman, Director of Eosta, and recently elected No. 1 in the Trouw Sustainable Top 100 ranking, was the first to put his signature on the 'No VAT on Organic’ petition. The initiators aim for a ‘0% VAT on organic food’ regulation in the upcoming first 100 days of the current new Dutch Government. On November 10, 11 and 12, people can go VAT-free grocery shopping at the participating organic specialty stores throughout the Netherlands. Media coverage of Save Our Soils action Berlin - on national TV!

The Save Our Soils guerrilla farming action in Berlin on October 28th during Global Soil Week has been a huge success. The German national ZDF-channel broadcasted an item in the evening news about the soil problem and showed footage of the guerrilla planting action. World famous activist Vandana Shiva, Klaus Töpfer of Global Soil Week  and Volkert Engelsman of Nature & More participated in unsealing a small part of the Berlin pavement, planting cabbage and promoting the Soilmate, a product developed for the campaign.
