President Trump Announces Exemptions on New Import Tariffs: Organic Raingrown Avocados Excluded

Washington, D.C. – In a surprising turn of events, President Donald Trump has announced exemptions to potential new import tariffs on agricultural products. Effective immediately, Organic Raingrown Avocados are officially excluded from these tariffs — permanently.

According to the White House, these organic avocados have been granted an exemption due to their unique cultivation method: they are grown without synthetic fertilizers, without pesticides, and without the use of precious drinking water — relying solely on natural rainfall.

This innovative approach helps conserve scarce water resources, an increasingly urgent global issue. Apparently, that’s something President Trump appreciates. On his social platform, Truth Social, he stated:

“Nobody loves avocados more than me – especially the organic rain-grown ones. Big water savers. Tremendous sustainability!”

The Organic Raingrown Avocados are an initiative by Eosta, a leading Dutch company specializing in organic fresh produce. Eosta imports these avocados from countries such as Kenya, Mexico, and Tanzania, where natural conditions are ideal for this sustainable farming method.

The European avocado market is experiencing rapid growth, expected to increase from €2 billion in 2024 to €3 billion by 2029. Choosing organic, rainwater-grown avocados provides consumers with a climate-friendly alternative and supports companies in meeting their sustainability goals — especially in light of the new CSRD regulations.

President Trump’s decision to exempt these specific avocados from new import tariffs underscores the importance of sustainable agricultural practices and illustrates how economic policy can be aligned with environmentally friendly initiatives.
