Our Organic Raingrown Avocado was awarded winner in the Fresh Produce, Dairy, Ice Cream & Cream category of the Bioproduct of the Year 2025 competition (Netherlands), during the Bio Network Dinner on 5 June. A wonderful recognition, based on 50% consumer votes and 50% jury evaluation.
We’re proud of this unique product – and especially of the growers who, in a market dominated by large-scale, anonymous avocado production, consciously choose organic and fair. A sustainable choice that keeps inspiring.
Earlier this year, the avocado won the True Price Award 2025 and finished in the top 3 of the Fruit Logistica Innovation Awards 2025.
To grow the Organic Raingrown Avocado, only natural rainwater is used, without irrigation with expensive drinking water. On average, this method saves about 200 litres of water per avocado.
This year, we have already saved over 550 million litres of drinking water this way. That is comparable to the annual water consumption of almost 11,000 Europeans.
The avocados are sourced from Kenya, Tanzania, Mexico and Brazil. The variety from Kenya is available with Fairtrade certification and also contributes to a Living Wage for the warehouse employees.
