First Organic Raingrown Avocados from Tanzania
Week 12 marks the start of the Tanzanian season of award-winning Organic Raingrown Avocados! Grown on 100% rainwater, these premium avocados contribute to a more sustainable future. Organic Raingrown is available year-round, with origins from Mexico, Tanzania, Brazil and Kenya.
Growing avocados typically requires 800-1000 litres of water per kilo, water that often comes from precious drinking water supplies. In contrast, Organic Raingrown Avocado grows entirely on natural rainfall, without irrigation with scarce freshwater resources.
To put the impact in perspective, growing avocados for annual consumption in Europe requires over 1,000 times the total annual drinking water consumption of the whole of the Netherlands. A gigantic amount of water.

This week, the first Early Sweet grapes will be harvested and shipped, so that — assuming normal transit times — they will be available before Christmas.
