Carpe Diem has been a trusted partner for our organic grapes from South Africa for many years. This week, the first Early Sweet grapes will be harvested and shipped, so that — assuming normal transit times — they will be available before Christmas. Once again, the quality is excellent, with good size and high brix.
Carpe Diem is run by grower Gog van der Colff, based in the Orange River Valley in the Northern Cape. Since switching to organic farming in 2006, the company has grown into a progressive producer of grapes, pecans and raisins. The rich soil along the Orange River and the dry climate offer ideal conditions for organic grape growing.

Gog is known for his focus on soil health, working with high-quality compost and vermicompost to create living, resilient soil. Carpe Diem also invests in sustainable energy, water conservation and local social projects — from education and childcare to community sports facilities.
For this season, we expect a stable supply from Carpe Diem, with Early Sweet as the first variety, followed by the other varieties. This offers a reliable supply of tasty, organic grapes for the December weeks.
