Organic Jucy Gold Oranges

Very juicy – and sustainably grown

A new citrus gem from Peru has arrived: Organic Jucy Gold Oranges! These Valencia-type oranges boast a high juice content of 45%, making them ideal for fresh consumption, juicing at home, in retail machines or for horeca use.

But there’s more to this citrus than just great taste. Grown by smallholder farmers from the Kivinaki cooperative, these oranges are 100% raingrown – cultivated solely with natural rainfall, without irrigation. A smart choice for a thirsty world.

High juice, high sustainability

Our Jucy Gold Oranges thrive in the tropical Chanchamayo valley in Peru. Due to the region’s low day-night temperature difference, the fruit develops a lighter skin colour than oranges from Europe or South Africa. However, this has no effect on the internal quality: the fruit is juicy, sweet and full of flavour.

Thanks to natural fertilisers such as compost and guano de isla (organic seabird manure), and the use of intercropping systems with mango, papaya, maize and coconut, these citrus groves are rich in biodiversity and naturally resilient.

And best of all: no irrigation. Just rainwater and responsible farming.

A milestone for farmers

For the farmers of Kivinaki, this is a true milestone: they are now sending fresh citrus to Europe for the very first time.
After years of supplying oranges to the juice industry and selling fresh fruit locally or regionally, this marks a significant step forward in their development.

With just 3 hectares of citrus, farmers can already reach a Living Income – enough to cover food, housing, healthcare, education and a small reserve. Most of the Kivinaki farmers exceed this threshold.

Meet the Growers

These exceptional oranges are grown by smallholder farmers of the Kivinaki cooperative, based in the Chanchamayo region of Peru. After a devastating coffee rust outbreak in 2013, many diversified into citrus and other crops. Their groves now flourish with a mix of fruits, biodiversity and organic principles — combining tradition with innovation.

Raingrown = Resilient

Citrus is often grown in regions where water is scarce, relying on irrigation from rivers or aquifers. Not here. Our Jucy Gold Oranges are cultivated with nothing but natural rainfall – helping preserve water resources and protect ecosystems.
