With more than 20 years of experience in the agricultural sector, Expofresh has established itself as a leading company in the production of high-quality organic blueberries, strawberries and lemons, among others, in the fertile areas of northern Argentina. Expofresh is known not only for its excellent products, but also for its commitment to sustainability and community welfare.
Expofresh's commitment to quality and environmental stewardship is rooted in the region's rich agricultural history, allowing them to deliver fruit that meets the highest standards of taste and nutritional value.
Franco, manager and son of the owner of Expofresh, explains: "At Expofresh, our priority is to ensure that our products not only meet the highest quality standards, but also respect the country and the people who work with them. We believe in building long-term relationships based on trust and transparency, while paying attention to job creation and local growth."
Expofresh's organic produce is grown in the lush "Las Yungas" region, known for its unique microclimate, fertile soil and abundant rainfall. The natural richness of this region enhances the flavour and nutritional value of Expofresh's products. "The plants grow directly in the soil and absorb essential nutrients, resulting in superior fruit that is good for your health," says Franco.
Expofresh started the transition to fully organic in 2016, based on the strong belief that care for the land and health is crucial for future generations. "We want to be more than just a fruit supplier and are proud that our blueberries and strawberries are 100% organic. Our lemon crop is partly organic, the conventional fields are currently in a transition period. Our aim is to be fully organic by 2026/2027," Franco said.
Expofresh uses advanced techniques to optimise operations. The use of drones for field control and mapping of their crops enables accurate monitoring and management of their crops. These innovations help improve productivity while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.
Expofresh is proud to be a guide for local producers and enjoys sharing their expertise to promote sustainable agricultural practices in the region. "What I enjoy most about my job is the opportunity to share our knowledge so that more and more people can see the importance of responsible consumption," says Franco.
Expofresh has made significant progress in sustainability, such as improving land management through crop rotation and preserving biodiversity by leaving parts of native vegetation uncultivated and planting natural hedges and trees around the fields.
The company has also implemented drip irrigation systems to reduce water wastage and regularly monitors water use to maximise efficiency.
Expofresh is not only committed to sustainable agriculture, but also actively contributes to improving the working and living conditions of the local community. The company offers fair wages, ongoing training and promotes safe, healthy working conditions for its employees. Moreover, Expofresh is involved in local sustainability initiatives and provides support to the community through educational programmes at primary and secondary schools in the province.
The company supports vulnerable communities in the region by partnering with the León Foundation, a renowned organisation that has been focusing on poverty, among other issues, in line with the SDGs since 2003.
Expofresh is focusing on the future by further optimising energy use. And is exploring options for installing solar panels on its fields
