Nature & More presents True Cost of Food and product innovations at trade fairs

Waddinxveen, Feb 1st, 2016 - At the major international trade fairs Fruit Logistica and Biofach this month, organic specialist Nature & More/Eosta will present its new campaign The True Cost of Food, as well as several other innovations, including a project that supports the development of  open-pollinated and heirloom vegetable varieties. We would like to draw your attention to the following three highlights:Tropical Wonder Bar and sustainable packagingFor most consumers there is a world of exotic fruit yet to be discovered. For this reason Nature & More is introducing the Tropical Wonder Bar. The colourful shop display, that includes information & recipe cards, lets consumers discover delicious new organic exotic fruit. Nature & More will also present a packaging innovation: the new environmentally friendly sugar cane cardboard holster for organic vanilla and fresh organic lemon grass.Opportunities for open pollinated varietiesNature & More / Eosta, in cooperation with scientists of the Dutch Louis Bolk Institute, have started the project "Opportunities for open pollinated varieties". The project aims to support development and breeding of open pollinated (including heirloom) varieties. "Our goal is to introduce the first open pollinated tomatoes and bell peppers to the market in 2016/2017", says Commercial Director Gert Kögeler. "By taking part in the project, we take a firm stand against EU patents on plant varieties and plant properties."The True Cost of FoodFood prices should reflect the true cost of food, including hidden social and environmental costs. That's why Nature & More More has launched the True Cost of Food initiative , adding true cost information for organic products at the point of sale and showing the differences between organic and conventional production. The campaign was launched with Berlin based retail chain Bio Company. The calculations are based on FAO reports. During the trade fairs, Swedish scientists will demonstrate a practical implementation of the True Cost of Food initiative, presenting the newly developed NutriCost scanner.Practical infoNature & More / Eosta will be at Fruit Logistica (www.fruitlogistica.de) in  Berlin, February 3 - 5, Hal 3.2, Stand C 07.Nature & More / Eosta will present itself at Biofach (www.biofach.com)  in Nürnberg, February 10 – 13, Hal 7, Stand 625.END OF PRESS RELEASEVoor de redactie:Eosta / Nature & More - Michaël WildeT:  +31 (0)180 63 55 63M: +31 (0)6 20535063E: michael.wilde@eosta.com
